The Daiwa Saltiga BJ (Bay Jigging) 3500SH Spin Reel is the ultimate mid-sized workhorse in the Daiwa range. The BJ is gifted with the design brilliance and pedigree that has made the Saltiga name legendary. This Saltiga BJ model features a Monocoque Body for maximum strength and power, while Hyper Digigear, Magsealed Body, bearings and line roller deliver unmatchable refinement, performance and protection. The Daiwa Saltiga BJ is made in Japan and features ATD, Air Rotor, ABS II, Silent Oscillation and Twist Buster II to deliver the jigging angler a reel of exceptional design and function. Through years of research and development, Daiwa found the solution - a membrane of magnetic oil, in conjunction with magnets between the body and the rotor of the reel, which greatly reduces the penetration of water inside the body via the main shaft. Being magnetised this lubrication system avoids any friction, reduces dust intrusion, eliminates oil spray and improves reel life expectancy. The Daiwa Saltiga BJ spin reel is suitable for light tackle reef flats, pelagic casting and jigging applications. It is a perfect mid-sized all rounder.

ABS-II: Featuring the design and line control advances of the original ABS, ABS II features a more pronounced reverse taper spool that enables greater line control on the spool and increased casting distance.

Air-Bail: Daiwa’s innovative bail design features a hollow tubular stainless steel bail that delivers maximum rigidity and strength with minimum weight. Featuring a smooth protrusion-free design and construction line easily slides unencumbered along the Air Bail towards the line roller for trouble free line control.

Air-Rotor: Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.

ATD-Drag: Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.

CRBB: Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings Daiwa’s CRBBs feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer lasting bearing that’s protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.

EVA Knobs: Delivered enhanced angler comfort and contact, EVA knobs provide optimum contact in wet conditions.

Hyper-Digigear: Featuring, Daiwa’s famous machine cut gear system, Hyper Digigear, results in silky smooth precision meshing between the main and pinion gear. Ultra tough, surface treated, high tensile alloy drive gear and marine bronze pinion gear allow for increased gear teeth accuracy and improved gear meshing, smoothness, and strength.

Infinite Anti Reverse: Daiwa's advanced system that limits rearward back play handle movement to almost zero for solid hook sets with less shock to the reel. The result is the elimination of handle slap-back and the unwanted release of line.

Magsealed Bearings: Magseal protection is no longer just for the main shaft and rotor of a reel with MagSealed Ball Bearings providing ultimate protection for the most at risk location such as the engine side plate and line roller.

Magsealed Body: Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with Magseal.

Magsealed Line Roller: One of the hardest working and exposed areas of a spin reel is provided with ultimate protection with a MagSealed line roller bearing shutting out the elements for optimum line roller protection, performance and longevity.

Monocoque: A one-piece frame eliminates the use of traditional two-piece body & side plate construction. A single piece body utilises a screw-in engine plate to house the main gear, reducing flex and twist under load creating a sealed mechanism. The elimination of the side plate has also allowed for a more compact body design. MQ technology not only makes reels stronger & better sealed, but also more compact.

Silent Oscillation: Silent Oscillation combines Digigear drive technology with dampening washes for noise free operation. Increased durability, and a reduction in reel noise are all achieved with Silent Oscillation.

Super Metal Body: Daiwa’s super aluminium alloy that allows the creation of a reel body that is four times more precise than a machined magnesium body, and with greater corrosion resistance.

Twist Buster II: The new and improved line twist reduction system takes line taming to another level with its tapered line roller enhanced to eliminate line twist like never before.
