Description
Description
The Daiwa 23 Airity breaks the 150g barrier to deliver never before seen levels of refinement. Airdrive Design incorporates all four elements to deliver a reel which enables precision control from the angler. The Airdrive Rotor is the most noticeable difference in the Daiwa 23 Airity, with flowing lines and smooth design of the new rotor delivering lighter start-up inertia and fluid reeling even under heavy loads. The Airdrive Bail is a one-piece tubular hollow bail arm which has evolved from Daiwa's original Air Bail design. Airdrive Bail is lighter and thinner than previous models, further improving start-up inertia and to deliver truly refined reeling. The Airdrive Spool has also been installed and still incorporates Daiwa's famous Longcast ABS spool lip, but is now lighter than before, reducing the force required from the oscillation system to move the spool up & down, which in turn results in a lower resistance when retrieving. Finally, the Airdrive Shaft is hidden inside the Monocoque body and is double supported by special collars inside the pinion gear, this further reduces friction and minimises power loss through the drive train of the reel. Ensuring that all that effort you put in is transferred to line back on your spool in an intense fight. The Monocoque (MQ) body remains from the previous model, crafted from a single piece of treated Magnesium, the MQ body of the Daiwa 23 Airity is incredibly light & supports a Tough Digigear drive system which is both forged and machined from a high-strength alloy to deliver smooth & reliable performance for years to come. There is no doubt that the Daiwa 23 Airity is one of the most refined Fishing Gear Fishing Reels Daiwa has ever produced, and is available in a range of sizes from 2000-5000 to suit a host of both freshwater, light-tackle & inshore fisheries throughout Australia.
Features:
- Airdrive Design - Daiwa’s new Airdrive Design, a four pillar (Airdrive Rotor, Airdrive Bail, Airdrive Spool, and Airdrive Shaft) design concept that reduces weight, and enhances rotational smoothness and responsiveness to create a reel that is next level in both form and function.
- Magnesium Body - Reels featuring a magnesium body are significantly lighter than conventional alloy bodied reels. Daiwa’s magnesium, Air Metal, technology processes the magnesium in a unique way that results in full corrosion resistance.
- Monocoque Body - A one-piece frame eliminates the use of traditional two-piece body & side-plate construction. A single piece body utilises a screw-in engine plate to house the main gear, reducing flex and twist under load creating a sealed mechanism. The elimination of the side plate has also allowed for a more compact body design. Monocoque technology not only makes reels stronger & better sealed, but also more compact.
- Tough Digigear - A further evolution of its predecessor Digigear, Tough Digigear is Daiwa's brand new digitally designed, machine cut gearing system that ensures ultimate gear precision, rotational smoothness, and strength.
- Long Cast ABS - Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.
- Air Rotor - Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, Air Rotor delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.
- Automatic Tournament Drag - Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.
- Magsealed Body - Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with MagSeal.
- Magsealed Line Roller - One of the hardest working and exposed areas of a spin reel is provided with ultimate protection with a MagSealed line roller bearing shutting out the elements for optimum line roller protection, performance and longevity.
- Screw-in Handle - Simplicity and effortless at its finest a screw-in handle features on Daiwa's mid to high-end reels. Handle removal is as simple as back winding the handle, or forward winding for handle installation.
