The Shimano Catana FE Spin Reel have been revamped for 2022 with a new body and cosmetic design. The Catana is designed for anglers who are looking for a quality reel at a reasonable cost. The Shimano Catana is perfect for freshwater, estuary and light offshore applications, the larger 4000-size reel can produce up to 8.5kg of drag power. The Catana FE series also features Shimano's G-Free Body and Propulsion Line Management System for all-day comfort and trouble-free casting. They come with an additional ball bearing taking it to 3+1, so it’s smooth sailing all the way with these value-packed reels.

- G Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel’s centre of gravity closer to the rod. This has been achieved by moving the worm shaft oscillation mechanism 19mm from the bottom of the reel to the top. By moving the centre of gravity closer to the anglers hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
