Building upon previous generations of the Shimano Sephia BB Reels, the new models are built lighter and tougher. They're perfect for getting the best out of your squid jigs and in turn, making it easier to tempt those squid into grabbing your lure.

Equipped with the sturdy Hagane Gear that increases strength, while maintaining smoothness, you’ll be able to work your jigs all day without trouble. The mix of the G Free Body, AR-C Spool and One-Piece Bail also makes for increased smoothness and comfort, cast after cast.

X-Ship brought down from top tier models offers you more efficient gearing and more power which ultimately gives the angler ultra-light handle rotation with less effort, even under load.

Features:

• XShip - XShip is a combination of features that work together to create much greater efficiency. By positioning the pinion gear close to the centre line of the large diameter drive gear, more power is transferred from the handle to the rotor. The pinion gear is also supported by two Shimano ARB roller bearings. This creates more stability.
• Coreprotect - Coreprotect prevents water entering the body, from under the rotor at the front of the body, and also into the Roller Bearing unit.
• Hagane Gear - The Hagane Drive Gear is produced by Shimano’s cold forging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers a long lasting smoothness, strength, lightness and power at the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.
• G Free Body -  G Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel’s centre of gravity closer to the rod. This has been achieved by moving the worm shaft oscillation mechanism 19mm from the bottom of the reel to the top. By moving the centre of gravity closer to the anglers hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
• Rapid Fire Drag -  Allows anglers to change the drag cam on the reel within seconds. This system changes the drag curve on the reel to cater to specific techniques or fisheries. Reels equipped with the Rapid Fire system come standard with a Long Range Special (L.R.S.) curve and up to 7 other Rapid Fire cams are available as accessories.
  
• AR-C Spool - Shimano ARC Spool is a patented spool design with an angled spool lip. This design enables the line to leave the spool with less friction and in smaller coils resulting in longer more accurate casts. ARC spools are proven to reduce backlash and wind knots when using braid.
• One Piece Bail -  The one piece bail wire has no gap for line to snag on during normal operation. Made of stainless steel, it reduces friction and allows the line to get onto the line roller quicker.
  
• S A-RB - Shielded anti-rust bearings are the best Shimano offer in saltwater protection and smooth reeling performance.
