Josh is your go-to guide for everything fishing, camping, 4WD, spearfishing, and game fishing. With a wealth of knowledge, he's here to help customers target their desired fish species in the best way possible.

Josh's personal favourites? Mangrove jack, mackerel, tuna, and trout, but he's up for targeting any species that swims!

"I started fishing not long after I could walk and never looked back!"

The warmer months are his favourite, especially when the mighty mangrove jack fires up. He enjoys yak fishing with his trusty companion Lilly, paddling up local creeks in search of the red dogs. Joshua's favourite method for targeting is skip casting plastics under mangroves!

Meet Jake (Bainzy)!
Bainzy is part of the in-store team at Tackle World Bundaberg and has been helping local anglers gear up for over a year. With a lifelong passion for fishing, Jake got his start working in a tackle store and hasn’t looked back since.

He’s a true local expert when it comes to targeting estuary and inshore species around the Bundaberg region, with a particular obsession for chasing saltwater barra. His top three favourite fish to target are barramundi, mangrove jack and snapper, and his tackle box is never without Samaki Vibelicous soft vibes, Irukandji DTF minnows and ZMan 3” Minnows.

Jake spends countless hours on the Burnett River, which also happens to be his favourite fishing destination. His dedication has paid off with some seriously impressive local captures including a 125cm barra, 140cm black jew and a 57cm jack, all landed right here in the Burnett.

Gary (Gazza) is our Boating Purchasing Officer at Tackle World Bundaberg and has been part of the crew for over 22 years. He’s been around so long, some reckon he’s got barnacles on him, and you’ll often catch him squinting at the computer screen.

Don’t let that fool you though. When it comes to boating gear, electronics or local fishing knowledge, Gazza is the one you want to talk to. With a lifetime of experience on the water, he’s built up an impressive knowledge of the region and knows how to match the right gear with the right setup.

His favourite fish to chase include barramundi, bream, bass, jack and flathead. His go-to lures are the Reidy’s B52, ZMan 4” StreakZ Curl Tail and the ever-reliable Jackall 79SP. You’ll often find him fishing his favourite spots like Baffle Creek or Lake Monduran whenever he gets the chance.

Meet Ryan 👋 our in-store expert at Tackle World Bundaberg!

Ryno was born in Bundaberg and grew up fishing and camping under the guidance of his old boy. He moved to Tully at age 12, where the remote billabongs and endless creeks quickly became his playground. It’s no surprise his favourite fishing destination is chasing big saratoga in those same waters.

Over the years, Ryno became a local gun, landing a job at Tackle World Tully before being picked up as a sponsored angler for Shimano Fishing and Mako Eyewear. From barra and jack in the snags to chasing trout and Spanish on the reef flats or bass in Lake Gregory, he’s fished just about everywhere. His top three target species are saratoga, barra and mangrove jack, and he’s always got a ZMan Pop FrogZ, Jackall Squirrel 79SP or the trusty 120mm Squidgie Wriggler in his kit.

Now back in Bundy, we were stoked to welcome Ryan to the Tackle World Bundaberg crew. His fishing knowledge is outstanding for his age, and he’s keen to dive back into the local fishery. Next time you’re in-store, be sure to say g’day to Ryno!

Meet Karl Elias 👋 Your in-store expert at Tackle World Bundaberg. Karl’s here to talk fishing, share his knowledge, and help you gear up for your next adventure. An outdoor enthusiast, Karl’s true passion is topwater fishing, whether with flies, squid jigs, or lures like stickbaits and poppers. He loves the challenge of landing trophy fish on lighter tackle. A specialist in saltwater estuary fishing, he's got the local river systems down pat. If you're looking for tips on chasing Barra, Jacks, Grunter and Flathead just ask for Corey. If he's not at work, you'll probably be able to track him down at Baffle Creek's waterfront camp sites - he'll be camping, fishing, and 4x4ing his weekends away and coming back to "the office" with a few stories and tips that he's happy to share.

Mitch isn’t just about selling gear—he’s passionate about connecting with fellow fishing enthusiasts and helping them bring their fishing dreams to life. With 25 years of experience, Mitch has done it all—spearfishing, game-fishing, squid jigging, prawning, and more. His top catches?
