Description

An iconic range from Daiwa just got an upgrade, the all-new Daiwa TD Sol MQ Spin Reel now features, you guessed it, Daiwa's Monocoque (MQ) one-piece body design, for better performance and better protection from the elements. All with the same quality of finish and precision-made insides as the previous model to ensure silky smooth operation and high performance at all times.

The Monocoque body delivers an all-round improved reel structure. Firstly, reducing potential ingress points for water and debris into the gearbox, MQ reels remove the normal side plate design. MQ bodies are IPX rated thanks to the elimination of that seam and the screws which traditionally hold the side plate to the main body assembly. Secondly, MQ-equipped reels like the Daiwa TD Sol MQ reels enjoy the additional volume created inside the gearbox by installing a drive gear, which is much larger in diameter than reels without MQ technology. To put it simply, MQ-equipped reels have a bigger gear and therefore have increased power, durability, and torque than competitor reels.

The Daiwa TD Sol MQ reel's body is made from the new Zaion V material, a high rigidity carbon composite material that can be formed into incredibly tough & rigid bodies that are impervious to the harsh destructive elements of saltwater fishing, all whilst keeping the weight of the reel right down.

The Daiwa TD Sol MQ spin reel steps ahead when it comes to the rotor and bail design, incorporating a Zaion Air Rotor and seamless one-piece Airbail construction usually reserved for Daiwa's top-end reels. This lightweight and rigid rotor design gives the TD Sol MQ incredibly low start-up inertia, which is great for setting a hook nice and quick.

Daiwa's Magseal has been utilised on both the body of the TD Sol MQ reels and on the line roller, which further prevents saltwater intrusion in the key areas of the reel.

A host of other Daiwa technologies including Long Cast ABS, ATD drags (2000S & 2500S feature felt washers, 2500D, 3000D & 4000D-C are Carbon) and Twistbuster II make the Daiwa TD Sol MQ spin reel the most highly featured TD Sol since the iconic orange reel first landed in Australia.

If you’re looking for a feature-packed small spinning reel capable of tussling with a host of fresh and saltwater predators, look no further than the eye-catching Daiwa TD Sol MQ Reel.

Features:

  • Monocoque Body: MQ Body takes reel design to the next level. The MQ system does not require a conventional side plate, instead using an engine plate to screw directly to the body. Eliminating the need for screws to hold a body cover in place. MQ body improves the strength of the reel, it also improves the water resistance of the body and allows a larger diameter drive gear to be installed.
  • Zaion V Body: A new generation of lightweight Daiwa’s resin and carbon material. The Zaion V material is both strong and incredibly lightweight.
  • Magsealed Body: Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with MagSeal.
  • Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings (CRBB): Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings Daiwa’s CRBBs feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer-lasting bearing that’s protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.
  • ATD Drag: Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start-up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.
  • Air Rotor: Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.
  • ABS Long Cast Spool: The LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.
  • Air Bail: A hollow tubular stainless steel bail that delivers maximum rigidity and strength with minimum weight.
  • Screw-In Handle: For both simplicity and strength.
  • Twist Buster II: The tapered line roller is enhanced to eliminate line twist like never before.
