Description

The Jackson Pin Tail Lures are an extremely versatile, sinking hard body minnow designed for casting off the beach and rocks. If you're new to hard body lure fishing off the beach or rocks, the Pin Tail Lures are a great place to start.

The Jackson Pin Tail lures are designed with a solid body to maximise weight-size ratio, which not only improves cast-ability but also allows these lures to sink rapidly and get down around the bigger fish quickly. This means you can fish deeper areas off the rocks and work the lure up just like a fleeing baitfish, which is great for species like kingfish.

The Jackson Pin Tails have a pretty tight vibrating action due to their shape, which you will feel when you're retrieving the lure even on a slow roll. This opens up a world of retrieve styles: slow rolling works (slow wind), faced-paced winding works well for pelagic species and along the surface, and a sweep-and-pause action works well also i.e. pull your rod backwards then let the lure sit while you wind in the slack line.

The 20g and the 35g Pin Tail lures are best to use when you're chasing smaller species like salmon, tailor and small tuna, and you'd throw both around because generally one works better on the day depending on what bait the fish are eating.

The bigger 48g Pin Tail is better when chasing bigger species off the beach or rocks like kingfish, spanish mackerel and other similar species. Please note: the 48g Pin Tail lures DO NOT come with hooks as per the images above.
